Marlene Rose Receives Top Honors in Glass World

Feedback from the recent Habatat Galleries 39th Annual International Glass Invitational Awards Exhibition.
In his introduction to the Exhibition, Ferdinand Hampson, the director of Habatat Galleries noted that inviting artists to be a part of the Invitational Exhibition allowed him to contemplate the attributes necessary for a successful artist. Amongst those are creativity and focus, intense drive, as well as education and exposure and a direction that is recognizable over a whole career. Not only was Marlene honored to be included in this stellar body of artists, but she was one of 20 artists chosen when the Exhibition itself was juried for awards by noted museum directors, curators, collectors and art critics.
As an awardee, Marlene's work will become part of a museum exhibit in 2012 at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, to celebrate the first 50 years of the Art Glass Movement.
